What You Can Do
How can your organization get involved in this exciting initiative? Here are just a few suggestions to help you get started. Remember, these are only a suggestions - the sky is the limit as to what your organization can do in your community!
- Assemble a team to assist Kids First Campaign steering committee in planning activities or events, identifying partners or children's champions or other activists
- Provide press releases and public services announcements to your local media. Consider hosting a press conference in you facility when called upon. You may have someone well-known in your community who can draw the attention of the media to the campaign
- Write an editorial piece for the local papers
- Promote the Kids First Campaign on your organization letterhead
- Promote The Kids First Campaign on your web site
- Include an article in your newsletter
- Invite a representative of The Kids First Campaign to do an advocacy training
- Invite a representative of the Campaign to talk to a local organization about getting involved in the campaign
- Host a community event or forum which focuses on the issues of the campaign
- Write, call or email stories of activism on behalf of children in your community, we'll include it on our Web site!
